Can I Have an Amen...Corner?

It's almost Masters week and you'll hear a few 50th anniversary tributes to Amen Corner along the road to the green jacket fashion show.

Augusta National has been around since the 1930s, but it was in a 1958 Sports Illustrated that Herbert Warren Wind coined the phrase for the 11th, 12th and 13th holes. Arnold Palmer beat Venturi thanks to a shot that hit a wet bank near the 12th green and embedded itself so deeply they used a local rule that allowed for free drops.

It's a pretty interesting story so just so you're prepared when family and friends ask "Why do they call it Amen Corner" this week, you can grab the knowledge at BogeyShooters.com and impress them with your historical perspective.
