You won't find too many owners dressed like Willy Wonka, but when you're the defending Super Bowl champs and the Patriots are coming to town, things get a little crazy.
Jim Irsay of the Colts was the ringleader at a downtown rally Tuesday, announcing a contest in which five fans would win an authentic Super Bowl XLI ring. It will take luck--and some treasure hunting skills, but for five bucks, it's not a bad idea.
Collectors have been known to pay thousands for real Super Bowl rings so you'd expect the winners would wind up putting them on eBay or selling to a sports memorabilia auction house.
Whatever the result, the announcement was...interesting.
